| Every night, billions of people dream. They dream of the things they want, the things they miss, the people they love, and the things they desperately wish they could forget. |
| Over time, all of that dreaming created something. Somewhere between dreams and reality, an impossible amount of energy began to gather in a quiet, liminal place. A place where endless rooms and doors lead somewhere different every time they open. And then one day, in that space, there was Miu. |
| She doesn't remember much about the moment she came to be. Only the strange energy surrounding her and a door that opened into a field. |
| Eventually, she found her way out into reality and met the people whose minds had unknowingly created her. She learned that humans dreamed of beautiful things. She also learned that they dreamed of things equally as horrible: nightmares, memories they wanted to bury, things that followed them into their sleep no matter how desperately they tried to leave them behind... |
| Miu hated watching it happen. Though she had been created from their dreams, she couldn't protect them from the worst parts of their own minds. That is until she discovered that she could eat them. |
| So she did. |
| Nightmares disappeared between her teeth. Frightening dreams, painful memories, fears given shape—anything that tormented someone while they slept, Mina consumed. At first, she thought she'd found her purpose. If she could take something horrible away from someone, why wouldn't she? |
| So she kept eating... and eating... and eating. |
| But nightmares don't disappear just because they've been swallowed. They have to go somewhere. And inside Miu, a void began to grow. |
| Every nightmare she consumed left something behind. Fragments of dreams, fears and memories that never belonged to her accumulated inside it. The more she consumed, she somehow found herself feeling emptier. |
| Eventually, Miu could no longer dream. Then she could no longer sleep at all. |
| The countless fragments inside her don't always make sense. Memories, regrets, thoughts, and feelings blend until Miu can't make sense of them anymore. She's aloof, confused, and perpetually exhausted. |

| Something loud, fast, and frustrating enough to drown out the noise in her own skull for a moment. While she's immersed in the pixels it's like the real world ceases to exist. A screen to stare at instead of having to look at the ghosts inside her. But even that burns her out after a while. |
| And when the waking world gets too heavy, she slips back through the doors to that quiet, liminal field where she first woke up. |
| And it’s not always empty there. Sometimes people wander in by mistake. They are always terrified, and completely lost in their own heads. |
| Miu lets them rest in her field, safely tucked away inside their dreams on her lap. They can dream about whatever they'd like while she keeps watch over the things that might turn those dreams into nightmares... or for anything that might turn her dreamers into its dinner. |
| Other people linger. |
| She likes to call the ones who stay for some time her sleepwalkers. |
| Others linger long enough to become Somniacs. They help feed Miu with lighter, happier dreams. |
| A select few remained close to Miu for so long that pieces of their conscious remain behind. |
| Her Remnants. |
| They dont leave. they cant. if they return to the waking world after spending too much time in mina's realm they lose all sense of self and forget who they once were. |
| Eventually, her Sleepwalkers and Somniacs have to wake up. |
| When they do, Miu sends them back into the waking world. |
| Then the strange little realm becomes quiet again. |
| And Miu waits. |
| Restless. Hungry. Unable to sleep although her world was built from dreams. Waiting for someone else to wander through the door. Begging to be released from the void that's swallowing her. |
